Furukawa

“Furukawa” was built in the first year of Keio (1865) in the Edo period, and was renovated from the residence of Furukawaya Sobei, who was the most successful Kitamae-bune ship owner in the Obama domain and was the captain of the Kitamae-bune.

The walls are thickly plastered, and the massive structure, with fine wood used for pillars and beams, shows the prosperity of the Kitamae Ship in those days.

“Furukawa” is registered as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan.

Designed by Yoshiji Takehara, a leading Kansai architect, you can spend a luxurious and extraordinary time in a beautiful and comfortable space that makes the most of the historical value of the building.

It is recommended for long-term stays, as it is equipped with a carefully selected bath and kitchen, a TV with a large projector, and a washing machine.
