  • Q What is the check-in time?
    A

    As a rule, check-in time is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If check-in time is after 7:00 p.m., we will charge 1,000 yen per 30 minutes.

  • Q What is the check-out time?
    A

    In principle, check-out time is 10:00. Late check-outs may be accepted depending on the room availability on the day of check-out, so please consult with us.

  • Q Is it possible to stay consecutive nights?
    A

    Yes. Generally, we do not clean the room for consecutive nights. If cleaning is required, please consult with us.

  • Q Can children stay overnight?
    A

    Yes, children are allowed to stay. Children under elementary school age who require a futon will be charged 4,400 yen per person, and those who sleep with their parents and do not require a futon can stay free of charge. Children over elementary school age will be charged the same as adults.

  • Q Until when can I make a reservation?
    A

    Reservations can be made until 5:00 p.m. the previous day. For some meal plans, reservations must be made up to 7 days in advance.

  • Q Is there a cancellation fee?
    A

    A cancellation fee will be charged from 14 days prior. If you have to cancel your reservation, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • Q How should I pay?
    A

    We recommend advance payment. To pay on site please use cash or credit card.

  • Q Do you accept credit cards?
    A

    Visa Card / Master Card / American Express / JCB / Discover are accepted. QR code payments such as PayPay and auPay are also accepted.

  • Q Is there a convenience store nearby?
    A

    There is a convenience store 5 minutes away by car.

  • Q Is there a shuttle service?
    A

    If you are coming by train or bus, we offer a cab pick-up option (for a fee) from JR Obama Station to the front desk building and accommodation building. Please call us (TEL: 0770-56-3366) at least one day prior to your stay to inquire about your preferred time of dispatch.


    1 car: 3,000 yen (tax included) for 1-4 persons

    2 cars: 6,000 yen (tax included) for 5 to 8 people

  • Q What facilities and equipment are available?
    A

    Facilities and equipment vary depending on the accommodation. For details, please see the list of accommodations.

  • Q Is it possible to cook at the inn?
    A

    Yes, each lodge has a kitchen. Basic equipment includes an IH burner, refrigerator, microwave oven, kitchen knives, cutting boards, plates, cutlery, etc.

  • Q Is a rice cooker available?
    A

    A rice cooker is available for a fee (500 yen). Please inquire at the time of reservation.

  • Q Do you keep seasonings on hand?
    A

    As part of our measures to prevent infectious diseases, we do not keep seasonings on hand. A set of salt, pepper, and salad oil is available for a fee (500 yen), which can be requested at the time of reservation.

  • Q Do you provide room service?
    A

    No, we do not provide room service.

  • Q Are drinks available?
    A

    We have drip coffee and tea available. You can also bring your own soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

  • Q Can I use Wi-fi?
    A

    Wi-fi is available free of charge. However, signal reception may be poor in some areas or the speed may be slow. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Q Is there a washing machine?
    A

    No. Please use a nearby laundromat.

  • Q Do you have a parking lot?
    A

    We have a free parking lot for one car, but please consult with us for a second car or more.

  • Q Is the hotel barrier-free?
    A

    Due to the nature of old private houses, they are not barrier-free. Please note that some of the accommodations have steep staircases.

  • Q Are pets allowed in the inn?
    A

    Pets are not allowed. We appreciate your cooperation.

  • Q Is smoking allowed in the hotel?
    A

    Smoking is not permitted in the entire building. We appreciate your cooperation.

  • Q Can I have fireworks or a barbecue in the courtyard or in front of the building?
    A

    As the area is densely populated with old townhouses, we ask that you refrain from any activities involving fire in the area, including inside the facility. We ask that you enjoy your activities in nearby parks, seaside areas, or other permitted locations.

  • Q Do you have a safekeeping service for valuables?
    A

    We do not provide a safekeeping service for valuables. Please take care of your valuables on your own.

  • Q Can I leave my luggage at the hotel?
    A

    Yes, guests can leave their luggage before and after check-in.

  • Q Can I send luggage in advance?
    A

    Yes, please send us an email at machiyastay@obamakankokyoku.com to let us know.
